Terms of Service

1. Using Pling

Pling lets you create and join ephemeral meeting rooms using a shareable URL or QR code. You do not need to register an account. Room names, display names, and in-room chat messages are transient and are not persisted once the room is empty.

You agree to provide accurate information when choosing a display name and to use the Service only for lawful, consensual communication.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Pling to:

• Harass, abuse, threaten, or deceive other participants;
• Record, capture, or redistribute another participant's audio or video without consent;
• Share content that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful, including malware or spam;
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or overload the Service or its signaling servers;
• Use the Service where doing so would violate applicable law or the rights of others.

You are responsible for the content you transmit and for obtaining any consent required to transcribe, record, or summarize a conversation under your local laws.

3. No account, no storage

Pling does not require an account and does not persist your meetings, chat history, transcripts, summaries, or media in a database. Anything shared inside a room is the responsibility of the participants. To make the optional summary available, Pling may keep a transcript in server memory for a short authorization period and send it to OpenRouter only after you explicitly request summarization. Your browser may hold the meeting record in memory while the room page remains open. Optional audio/video recordings are created and saved only by the participant's browser; they are not uploaded to Pling. You decide whether to create, copy, download, or retain any local record.

4. Privacy and cookies

Our handling of the limited data involved in connecting you to a room is described in our Privacy Policy. Pling also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager, and PostHog to measure usage after you consent; the storage these services use, and your consent choice, are explained in our Cookie Policy. Both documents are part of these Terms.

5. Third-party services

Pling relies on third-party infrastructure for connectivity, including public STUN/TURN servers and browser WebRTC implementations. We are not responsible for the practices of those third parties, and their terms may apply to your use.

6. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that Pling will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that media will always be delivered peer-to-peer. You use the Service at your own risk.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, banegasn shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, privacy, or profits, arising out of your use of or inability to use Pling. Because Pling is offered free of charge, our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to zero.

8. Intellectual property

The Pling name, branding, and source code belong to their respective authors. You retain ownership of any content you transmit through the Service; you grant other participants and Pling only the limited permission needed to display it within a room.

9. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may update or modify the Service at any time. We may also revise these Terms; continued use of Pling after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.

10. Termination

You may stop using Pling at any time by closing the room. We may suspend or restrict access for anyone who violates these Terms or to protect the Service.
